So prior to DeBlasio's induction, the city has never settled with anybody for a money amount before?

That $38M is being distributed between thousands of people; you act like it's all going to one person.

This is so stupid. I thought from the title of the article that woman were actually paid less working at the same job. Actually they were just arguing that they're paid less than other people who work at a different organization whom happen to be overwhelmingly male. Wtf! Lots of people get paid less for doing similar jobs. Why don't they just try to get that other job, was there a policy to exclude them? Or was it just so much more difficult to get those jobs because it pays more. I guess all college grads who can't get a job at Goldman Sachs should sue based on the fact that they have similar training and get paid less.

From the article:
The safety agents, who work for the NYPD but don’t carry guns, were typically paid $7,000 less than workers in hospitals and homeless shelters — who are overwhelmingly male — despite similar training and duties.

Gee, who were the mayors when the tallies for these unequal pay schedules were run up?
Lets's see?

Giuliani 8 years, Bloomberg 12 years, DeBlasio, 0 years.

Hmmm, I wonder how many women DeBlasio hired and underpaid in al those zero years. Perhaps $5000 worth of pay differential with the other $37,995,000 assignable to the two mayors who predated him for 20 years reign? Alright, make it $10,000 for DeBlaso and $37,990,000 for the other two.

I'm waiting for some rabid right winger to mention DeBlasio being responsible for the first responders' deaths in 9/11/2001...or even the assassination of JFK.

That is, indeed, a WTF moment.
