Yes there's hipsters in DC. You'll find them in the U Street, Shaw, Columbia Heights, Logan Circle, H Street/Atlas District, Bloomingdale, Takoma, Truxton Circle, and Brookland neighborhoods.
I think you really have "Hipster Envy". Hey I give them a lot of credit moving into some of these places. Gone are the bad old days of boarded up rowhouses and crackhead zombies roaming the streets. Now we have micro brew beer bars and Whole Food Markets. What I don't get is their utter fascination with the Gowanus Canal! I mean who would ever kayak on that body of water or live on a houseboat that floats on it. Some of them do. I'm scratching my head on that one.

No one envys hipsters, believe me. As for their love for the Gowanus Canal, it seems the definition of hygiene is a moving target for some folks.
