Question for the group do people typically sign the leases for these type of buildings without seeing the unit first? I still have yet to see my actual unit. Starting to feel a little uneasy.
The last time I spoked to HPS agent, I was told that they are currently working on leases and move in dates. Based on this assumption, it seems that the first move in might be at the end of this month. Though I am not sure if people would actually see their unit beforehand. That was actually my question if the actual unit is actually done, but it has to be if c / o was issued for the lower floors.
Is a home inspection of where you are currently living, part of the application process for Hunters Point South? Have you had one done yet? Can this disqualify you?

I haven't heard of home inspections being done. Where did you hear that from and why would it be done? From what I know they verify your rent history from landlord, though I am not sure if they do home inspections right before you move in.
The home inspections might be done annually or monthly for tenants awarded low income units. At those prices, Related Management wants to ensure nobody is doing anything unorthodox or sleazy like renting their apartment out ON airbnb or renting it out to someone long term and charging 5K while the original tenant pays $950.00 for a 3 bedroom and pockets 4K.
I am referring to home inspecting of your current living conditions BEFORE your application is approved for Hunters Point South. I know this is done on other housing lottery apartments and wondering if this is done for Hunters Point as well. The reason I ask is that it adds to the processing time and you have to take another day off work to be sitting around for them to visit. Has anyone had to do this with Hunters Point yet? If you have an apartment there, let us all know. Many thanks.
I believe that's only done for section 8. Are u currently in section 8 housing?
