Matt,

I hope they made that transfer worth it $$$ for you because after the first few trips you are going to feel ready to eat a bullet.

The only sane thing to do is the LIRR and the subway. If you really considered ALL the costs of driving, I think you will find it higher than public transportation.

Hopefully your employer increased your salary to reflect Manhattan living and commuting costs as opposed to Nassau County.

So the parking by Creedmore is fine and plentiful @ 7AM. I also park by Union and Commonwealth Blvd. I always find a spot there too.

The commute it self sucks. I'll be blunt. It's about a 35 bus ride to Queens Blvd. and the bus is get packed. Then I take the E train to Spring. St. About 50 min ride. Or I'll take the E to 42nd and transfer to the 1, and take the 1 to Houston St. Not sure which way is faster.

I'm still looking for places to move. Manhattan is an option, Forest Hills, Kew Garders, Rego Park, Astoria, pretty much anything in or around the city is an option.

Matt

Again anything other than LIRR to subway is not feasible or practical or you can move closer to the subway problem solved.
