If you've breastfe/pumped and done jury duty in the Bronx in the past year, c'mere++ (office)

What is the pumping situation? Would you defer or is it doable?

I deferred when I was breastfeeding and was called for jury duty. In fact, since it was my second deferral (first was just a simple scheduling conflict that I automatically deferred a year before), I had to go to the Bx courthouse - with the baby as proof - and plead my case. They were a little frosty (asked why I still needed to BF if the kid was 7 months old already), but I took a respectful-but-firm-and-informed-of-my-legal-rights-to-public-accommodation stance and explained that pumping would mean I would have to leave proceedings every two hours for 20 minutes (OK, exaggerating slightly, but still). They couldn't accommodate that. Since I deferred, I never saw the location provided to pump/nurse (they would have to have one as an employer of that size), so I don't know if it is close to where you would be serving on a jury or just a closet/office somewhere on the opposite side of the building. I would defer. Good luck!

They exaggerated asking why you still breastfed. That was too much. the baby is still not even a year old.
