Agreed (the first part, I don't remember the old TS personally, just from pictures).

Honestly - and I know we're all entitled to float our own boats however we like - I simply don't get it. What's the appeal of a place that screams "look at me!" everywhere you look? A place that gobbles an obscene amount of power, the vast majority of which is used for advertising? It's essentially a visual and aural assault on the senses for no apparent purpose other than to get your attention and $. When people put TS in their list of things that are iconic NYC I roll my eyes and think "the rest of your list better be damn good."

Really. Ech!

I totally agree with the two of you. I can't stand Time Square. It's crowded, noisy and the obnoxious lighting is a huge eye sore. Now that they put up that ridiculous screen it looks a large fly trap for tourists. What are they going for? The lights are blinding.

I just don't get why people need to see this mess when they come here.

I used to LOVE the ESPN Zone before they closed it down. Not sure how much I would have loved it as an adult, but I sure was heartbroken when they closed it down

I can't believe I lost my virginity in what is now a Reese owned restaurant chain. What am I going to show the kids when they grow up ?

Anyone remember The Zoo or Plato's Retreat ? Peepland ?

I miss the Virgin Mega Store. That was a cool place to spend some time.
