I'm trying to track down a mysterious local coin club, possibly based in the Bronx, which seems to be very secretive. I've run across some names, but can't find any telephone numbers.

Anyone have an inside track? I have a few coins that might be valuable, and I'd rather start there.

Not sure why a coin club would be secretive. Do you know anything about coin collecting? If you don't, get a book like the Red Book of U.S. Coins to get a general idea of the value of what you have (if U.S. coins). Never go to a coin dealer without knowing the value of what you have or you will be low-balled most of the time if you are selling. There are also weekend coin shows that have a lot of dealers buying and selling coins if that's what you want to do.

I had the same reaction, wondering why they'd be secretive. Most clubs are delighted to bump into interested people. However, I was told that they're paranoid that they'll get mugged when carrying expensive coins.
