Hello everyone. I am currently living in Atlanta with my parents. I was born and raised in Brooklyn. My parents moved to the ATL in 2008. I stayed in NYC when they moved and was able to obtain a decent paying job, but unfortunately, I lost it this year. The place that I was living in, I had to move out as well. I'm now collecting unemployment, but it's going to run out soon. I thought I would like it here, but I don't and I am so ready to go back to NY, but I need some info on how I can do that. I applied for numerous jobs in NY before I moved. One of the jobs I applied to, states that it would "consider me for the future". I want to know what I should do when they call me for the interview. PLEASE HELP!

What kind of work experience do you have, eg what kind of job are you looking for?

The more sophisticated the job, the more likely they are to consider out of area applicants. If you have any friends / family up here, it may make sense to use their address on application - this is assuming you aren't applying to mcdonalds, where they tell you to come in that afternoon and you stsrt tomorrow.

2 years experience as a Security Guard and 5 years experience as a Corrections Officer. I'm looking into doing Campus Security. I applied for campus security with NYU and Pratt in Brooklyn.

Since you were already a CO, I'd figure you already carry. You should apply for a gun permit in NY and increase your chances.

I already took the 47 hour Firearms training course in NY and have my certificates. I had a premise license, but I didn't renew it because I was working for a private company as a CO making lots of money, but it closed down in 2010. That same year, I had to give up my gun because of my expired license.
