Has anybody been able to connect on their laptop in any of the parks that have the free At&T wifi? Is the connection any good? I'm up in Astoria and the wifi in Astoria Park is no good. My laptop has wifi capabilities and I already tested it out in a few cafes/restaurants in Astoria; at the library there too. IT WORKS JUST FINE THERE in all those other places. But in Astoria Park NOTHING. the "attwi" doesn't even appear in the drop down list as "wifi available". I followed all the instructions on how to log on that are given in the nycparks.gov website. NOTHING.

I've been able to connect on my mobile devices. Usually it's fine. Probably depends on how many people are using it.

Astoria Park is a big place. Wifi signals travel only a few hundred feet. The wifi supposedly is near the track.

Yes.

I sat in 4 different places right outside the track where the benches were. Nada.

I sat in 3 places right in front of park house and bathrooms. Then in front of entrance to track. Nada

Data plans are so cheap these days, just tether to your own phone and it's way faster than public wifi.
