Does anyone think de Blasio is Elliot Spitzer all over again? Some conservatives compare him to Dinkins, but I think those two are nothing alike. As loathed as de Blasio is becoming among the elite, I bet they are working overtime to see if they can't unearth some corruption scandal that would force him to resign. Dinkins by contrast is accused of being inept, but not corrupt.

A successful leader would need either a fully supportive spouse at home to take care of household chores and kids education, or a wise profeasional spouse who knows how to advise and operate behind the curtain. Deblashow has neither, which explains why he struggles so much at such a command in chief position.

But the criticism of Spitzer was that he was a hypocrite and that he abused his power, especially when he served as Attorney General. The main criticism I've heard of de Blasio is that he's just inept as a manager, that he is more suited to the gadfly role of public advocate.

Good point. Ronald Reagan had Nancy Reagan, the grand hostess of the white house. George H.W. Bush had Barbara, who was a housewife who oversaw the kids and the household. His son had Laura Bush who oversaw the kids and the household. Bill Clinton had Hillary, a wise professional spouse. Barack Obama had Michelle as the wise professional spouse. As Senator and Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton had Bill, the wise professional spouse (and she would have him if she becomes President).

Compared to Michelle and Hillary Chiarlane is poorly educated and didn't have a worthwhile career, but she isn't the hostess Nancy Reagan and the Bush women were.

As much as I dislike Bla as Mayor, I see him much more in the Dinkins mold than in Spitzer's.

I see similarity between him and GWB, good individuals but incompetent/puppet leaders. Bush had a circle of evil advisers whereas Bill is a shadow of his spouse.

Anyone know how Blasio came to become wealthy? I never heard of public service people being able to afford two row houses in park slope, Brooklyn. Did he just buy during a great time?

Never mind seems like it is inheritance from parents.

He bought his first home in 1989, when it wasn't that expensive, not much more than your average suburban Long Island neighborhood.

442 11th St, Brooklyn, NY 11215 - Zillow

Sold for $185,000 then

Mayor de Blasio's assets are few with meager retirement fund: report - NY Daily News
Funny how he raises his tenants rents as much as he wants, but strictly limits other landlords to a 1% increase. And that with de Blasio's own statistics say that LL's expenses went up 6%!
