Hello, and happy new year!

I am a single, 34 year old lesbian who is relocating to NYC for work, and am hoping that some locals on this forum can share their expertise with me...more from an age perspective than a sexual orientation standpoint, as it relates to neighborhoods. From what I have read, Gramercy and Flatiron are currently my top contenders, but I will certainly defer to you as the experts.

Thank you kindly in advance!

It doesnt matter really. Live where you can afford, take a subway/cab/walk to where you want to go and along the way enjoy everything else that the city has to offer.

Thank you, however, I really don't want to live in an area primarily made up of twenty year olds or married people, hence my post.

Appreciate your reply.

There's a thread/sticky about New York at the beginning of this forum. Did you read it?

Park Slope is lesbian central & not a lot of 20 somethings around, but there's a lot of couples with kids tho & you have to be able to afford it. But right next to a great park & I imagine the best woman's social scene by neighborhood. Gramercy is very nice but a hair's breath away from Murray Hill which is a large post college scene. Flatiron is great, but so are many other nabes, below 23rd St is definitely preferred for singles.
