I generally say there isn't enough money in the world to get me to work there. I was just making a networking-type call to an ex-colleague, putting out feelers, you know - and when I discovered the office had moved to the WTC, I immediately lost all interest in ever working with them again.
You're kidding, right? Two terrorist attacks, and you have to ask why someone might not want to work there?
Then you might as well scratch off employers like Conde Nast, Moody's, WestLB, BNY, BofA, Goldman Sachs and AON (Citi is nearby) from your list of prospects. UBS is looking to relocate there also. There'll be a long line of jobseekers looking to work in that area.
I would not work there. And given the choice I would drive over flying any day of the week. Now I'm not sure if that's due to terrorism or an insane fear of heights. I've always hated flying.
If you want to know who i am look for the totally trashed woman getting off the airplane at 10 in the morning.
9/11 should have never happened n the first place, when the truck bomb went off in the parking garage the first time that was our sign warning us that as a nation it was time to act, we did nothing.
As majestic as they were the twin towers were easy targets, look at the old skyline photos, they stood straight up in the air with nothing protecting them. Of course when they were constructed terrorism wasn't a big threat like it is today.
As far as not working there I say hogwash on that. Every time we live in fear we let the terrorists win. Would it be scary to walk into that new building knowing what happened on 9/11 I'm sure it would be but we can't stop living as Americans cause of what might happen.

You're kinda letting the terrorist win by not working there (if given the opportunity). The whole goal of those attacks were to instill fear and insecurity into Americans. If it wasn't WTC, it could have been ESB or Times Square. Pretty much any prominent location with any large number of people or high profile names would be the likely target for any number of terrorist groups or cells. If you're not going to work at WTC then you might as well not work anywhere else in NYC or any major city in the US.
