I saw my apt on 1/15 they take you to see the place first from there you are asked if u like it and accept. Once u do they make you fill out a booklet and calculate your rent. They give you 7 days to pay your deposit, rent, key, carbon dioxide ,smoke detectors fees then you get your keys. Which development are you going to see? Good luck

Does NYCHa specialize in section 8 apartments?

What is the income bracket that they cover?

After you see the apartment, if you like it you will then go to the management office and sign the lease. You will then be asked to bring in the 1st month rent and security depost within a few days. If the apartment still needs repair you will the have to wait until everything is fixed which can take months.

Missarg it took me 4 years before I was shown apt. It really depends on the development you pick and your priority. I picked ingersoll one of the better development as all of the apartments were renovated and the location . My bedrooms are pretty big lots of closets and sunlight. Where are u in the process?
