You should have linked to the story at the bottom of that story. These guys were caught fairly quickly.
That is all to the credit of law enforcement.

I've never been to Edison, but it might be a good idea to learn to use the transit directions on Google maps. Usually you can get a pretty good sense of how long a public transportation commute will take by looking up the place and doing the directions (make sure to click the train icon for public transportation, otherwise you will get driving directions)
