How ironic that both CaribNY and Bronxguyanese often hate liberals and "liberal" solutions, yet they weep and wail when confronted on how the markets and capitalism work.
There are lots of Hispanic and Asian immigrants who can live with multiple people per housing unit and who are willing to work hard for low wages.
So the working class CaribNY claims to love so much is expendable. If they can't match Hispanic or Asian immigrants per output employers don't want them so it's BYE Felicia. The service sector work, particularly the hardest parts of it are mainly done by either immigrants or people who have criminal records and therefore can't find better employment.
Realistically nothing will change the city will constantly use recent immigrants and people with records to staff low paying jobs indefinitely. Yes business people earn more money this way.
And by the way at some point people with records do need jobs or else they will be homeless and end up stealing. After people pay their debts to society they deserve another chance.

Don't get me wrong, alot of what you said is true, but unfortunately the Bronx political machine may shut this all down if they think areas are beginning to reach a demographic tipping point. That's my fear.
One only has to look at the sales transactions of buildings in past 18 months to know that developers have already gotten the OK. Nearly $8billion in transactions.

Many Asians in NYC are actually living in poverty. The poverty rate for Asians in NYC is 29%, as of 2012. There are recent studies attesting to that.
The New York media yesterday focused on a recent report conducted by the Center for Economic Opportunity that concluded that 45.6% of all NYC residents live in poverty and were struggling to make ends meet. Just as startling was the fact that Asian-Americans were the largest group of New Yorkers living in poverty having surpassed the Latino/a population. it's a duality and a function of large asian immigration into nyc. asians still rank the highest with whites for highest median income. the bottom third are fresh off the boat wok flippers working at restaurants for cash, and the top 2/3rd's are business owners and professionals. the difference between those asians who are below poverty level and other ethnic groups is asian poverty is transitory, and are highly upwardly mobile and leave poverty within 3 years of immigration, and replaced with another large influx of annual immigration.

Who knew that Brooklyn and Queens was originally developed as ghettos. And the South of Bronx is like pure paradise.

The Bronx, namely Grand Concourse was the first "white flight" neighborhood of NYC in 1917, amongst upwardly mobile, predominanly Jewish and Italian families fleeing the ghettos of lower Manhattan, West Queens/Brooklyn. It is the opposite of Queens/Brooklyn because it began as higher income housing option for the upwardly mobile and regressed into ghettos post 1960's.
Yes, Grand Concourse has superior pre war architecture compared to Brooklyn, even Harlem does. Outside of certain posh enclaved areas of NW Brooklyn, the rest of Brooklyn is mostly tenement architecture, ghettos housing the industrial working class of the early 1900's. Townhouses replaced ghettos eventually in some areas, the bungalow townhouse style off Kings Highway, the very 70's looking red brick or aluminum siding homes built post war or the multitudes of square 12 story rectangle apts with peekaboo windows. All you need to do is drive on Ocean Pkwy and take a look both sides.
Regarding subways, South Bronx is FAR superior to NW Brooklyn. This is the case because of the geography of Brooklyn which is wide to the east of Manhattan, wheras the Bronx runs parallel north and south with Manhattan. Like Queens, Brooklyn rides many of their trains above ground, above street level, are loud as hell, often delayed and cancelled in bad weather. The 4 express or the orange D are all underground and from the Bronx will take you ANYWHERE in Manhattan without transfer. Can't say that with any train out of Brooklyn.
The eventual gentrification of Bronx will outshine everything attempted in the other boroughs simply because of it's geographical logistics and infrastructure.
