As a big combat sports fan I was curious about this. I know Renzo Gracie has a place in Brooklyn, but from what I've read it is mostly just straight BJJ rather than a comprehensive MMA facility. Also, there is the Long Island MMA Training and Fitness Center in Farmingdale. One of their trainers even headlined the last UFC Fight Night (in a losing effort unfortunately). However, Farmingdale isn't exactly NYC. Hell, it's an hours drive from Queens!

So I was interested in knowing if there are any better ones and what is the top one. Bonus points if any of their fighters trainers have had success in place like UFC or Bellator.

Look at Anderson's martial arts in lower manhattan. they do JKD/FMA, but I think they do some MMA as well. Good place. Dan Anderson trained directly under Dan Inosanto. Both he and his wife, Dasha, are excellent instructors. I trained there like 2 years ago..

edit: definitions for those who don't know: JKD=jeet kune do FMA=filipino martial arts, as in escrima/stick-knife fighting.

Thank you for the information. I will have to look into it. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking about costs and travel convenience just to be practical.

I'm also considering Ronin Athletics in addition to the others mentioned.
