Other than Craigslist, putting up flyers in the area, and hiring a real estate agent, any other ways/venues to advertise an apartment for rent? Thanks!

If it's anywhere convenient to Columbia, office of off-campus housing.

Naked Apartments is your best bet. StreetEasy is good for sales, but Naked is the city's best rentals site. It's free to advertise for small landlords.

A variety of online sites have popped up, some of which have been mentioned here, if you do a search. Of your three options, I'd stick with CL. Flyers seem very bottom-of-the-barrel, and I can't see why anyone in his right mind would hire an agent in this market.

By the way, no one seems to remember that the NYT still exists. It's expensive, but I think it would do a good job of weeding out people.
