Hello to all, just an update from what I know, track worker 3600 started hiring already. the first training class is already over with and it looks like they are getting ready to start a second training class. I received a letter to come in for a " pre interview and medical examination ". my list number was 315-330
Hey BK. Thanks for the info. Im in the 340s. Still waiting for my letter. I call the DCAS number(212)669-1357 every Monday. As of April 19, 2015 DCAS states that the last eligible appointed is 156. I know that this is different from the number of the last person called in for pre interview. I also know that there will be a class very soon, probably in May and would like to get into the next class. If anyone has info on number of people who got called in for screening pleases post. For anyone who never called the DCAS number I will say this. When the DCAS recording says that you are "currently on an outstanding certification" that means that DCAS has sent your info over to Transit for consideration for employment. DCAS administers the tests and keeps the records. When the agency needs people to fill positions it lets DCAS know. Then DCAS sends over a list of X amount of eligibles from the list to be considered for the job. I am currently on an outstanding certification...been that way for about 2 weeks, feels like months. So don't expect your letter as soon as your status changes on the DCAS hotline. It would help if people post when DCAS puts them on a certification. That way others will get a sense of approximately how many people will be in the next class or at least an idea of when they could expect to be certified and possibly get their letter. To those who are further down the list just be patient and get something else for now. The list will move fast because a lot of people are failing the drug test, some are not accepting the position, and a lot are failing the background. Good Luck to all. Help keep each other informed. It will make the whole process easier.

Just came back from Livingston. Had to get some info on getting into the upcoming class. Lots of people being processed. Office was packed only about 4 empty seats. I'm sure not all were there for track but it's a good sign that transit is VERY actively hiring. A few people were returning because they didn't have all their background info in order. Many were told to come back another day because they were missing info such as: job history, discrepancy in driving record etc. Only a few were sent for drug test maybe 5 in a 1 hour period. Everyone was there with background info such as diploma so I'm assuming the others that didn't get sent off for drug tests didn't have all that they should. I have a friend who has been in track for 15 years and he told me a lot of people have not been making it through drug and background and a lot of people have just been declining the job. List will move very quickly. Good luck. I'm in the 340s will post when I get my letter.
So I just spoke to a friend of mine who is a track worker. As of yesterday they are up to 175 on the list. But he said people are falling out left and write due to failing the drug test and back ground check. Apparently the MTA has a much more stringent back ground requirement than they did in the past and even misdemeanors could disqualify a candidate. This is due to the TSA and home land security requirements.
