Which park is better for a picnic date with my long time girlfriend? Elmhurst Park around Middle Village, or Juniper Valley Park? I'm thinking maybe some sandwiches, maybe some beer (I know that's illegal though), and maybe a quick game of basketball or handball. Which park has better (less populated) ball courts?

Don't know too much about Elmhurst park but Middle Village is a great spot for a picnic. Nice size, quiet, plenty of open space and there's two sections of basketball courts... The one next to the kids playground is almost always packed but the competition is usually better on that one but it's only one full court or two half courts... The other section has two full courts by the handball courts/baseball fields and it's usually not too packed...
When is the last time you walked by Elmhurst Park? I walked by today and it looked nice from the outside. I was in a rush though. It looked nice from the outside though.

It feels very empty for a park. Juniper Park has almost everything a park should have.
Juniper is a much larger park. Elmhurst Park is really more like a large playground. Its much better than having those 2 large gas tanks back in the day.
