I am transferring my daughter to a new school (elementary) next year where she will have to attend the after school program. Unfortunately, it's ridiculously expensive. I was told that I may qualify for an ACS voucher for the after school. Has anyone does this? How does it work exactly? I did some research online and it's my understanding that if I already know where she will be going, that I have to apply through ACS but put the name of the after school program. If that's the case, I'm assuming I have to wait till she's already registered at the after school program before applying for a voucher. It's kind of confusing, so any advice or help will be much appreciated. Thanks!

You can apply beforehand, you will have a list of ceritified providers to choose from based on the neighborhood you choose once they tell you the amount you are entitled to.

Ok, thank you! So, if the after school program is not on the approved list, then I can't use the voucher, right?

Correct. They oversee the approved providers.
