I am (along with my family), coming to NYC this Spring Break. I was wondering if you all maybe an itinerary on what to do. We are arriving on March 14th and leaving March 19th.
The Saint Patrick's Day parade is Monday the 17th... typically a very large event with a parade that runs up 5th Ave from 43 St to 86 St from 11AM to around 5PM.
Sorry, but I think you need to give some more specifics. What are your interests? What are you looking to do? Eating, clubbing, shopping, museum hopping, site seeing, getting drunk, shooting heroin under the Queensboro bridge? We need some more specifics if you want suggestions. Asking "what should I do in NY for a few days" is like asking us to tell you what your favorite color is.
Well, we are getting a New York Pass, and want to find something entertaining to do for the little one's coming (two 12 year olds). Sightseeing and things like that are good, but are there a lot of interactive stuff to do for those 12 year olds (like rides, etc.)?

My son is slightly younger but some of the things he likes are: the Transit Transport Museum in Brooklyn (he absolutely used to love taking the subway when we first moved here; you can stand in the first car and feel like you're driving), the Natural History Museum, ice-skating in Central Park (not sure if it's still on in March), the museum at South Street Seaport (you can visit a historic ship), shopping at the big Toys'R'Us at Times Square (which he prefers to FAO Shwartz), taking a Circleline boat tour around Manhattan, the Bronx Zoo or Central Park Zoo, the Aquarium in Coney Island, Top of the Rock. Hope this gives you some ideas.

The Staten Island Ferry is a must. So is the Bronx Zoo. The Museum of Natural History with it's dinasaurs and so much else that kids love.
The Central Park Zoo, Central Park itself. They will love the St.Patrick's Day parade but bring warm coats, hats, gloves - it's always breezy and often downright cold.
Going to the top of the Empire State building. Just walking around mid-Manhattan and near Times Square they will see things that might interest them a lot.
