People do not have the right to take up more than 1 seat on the subway, period. Little effort is involved in keeping one's legs from spreading into the 2 adjacent seats. It's a simple matter of courtesy.

Personally I'm waiting for womanspreading to become a public nuisance. Maybe I would happily start using the stupid subway again.

Default leg and knee position while sitting down is not THAT wide. A natural position probably wouldn't be any wider than the person's body width. So one can sit with knees apart without "man spreading". Guys do it all the time on airplains.

I dunno. A lot of guys are out of shape. Their thigh adductor muscles are like wet spaghetti. Their legs just flop apart. Its generally overweight or out of shape guys that have this issue.

Do they also arrest some fat you-know-what who takes up 2 seats by herself and then a 3rd with her handbag?

Manspreading is a neccessity for men with large genitalia. If I were a woman I would see that as a sign of sexual prowess and not be bothered by it. If a woman's son manspreads then she can be happy to know that her son is quite large and will have little problem finding women with whom to mate and give her grandchildren.

Yesterday the #1 train was mobbed. One normal sized guy took up 3 seats in spite of elderly people around him.
Yep, he was black as expected.

So yesterday the C train was crowded. It was not super packed but most seats taken. One black teen was sitting down and a pregnant lady came on and stood across from him. Everyone else, especially the white men, ignored her (I've noticed white men tend to ignore pregnant ladies standing) but the kid looked at the lady and squeezed over on the seat to make room for her.
