An article I recently read said they expect occupancy to start mid to late summer. The affordable apartments are usually filled before the market rate so I really think the people who will be awarded an apartment should be moved in around July/August. Someone should call and ask. I'm tired of calling and being told by the woman "no update" when there obviously are updates because the building will be done in a few weeks.

You can check on the Department of Buildings site to see if a Certificate of Occupancy has been issued.

Update: so I went by the building yesterday and the while the driveway hasn't been paved yet, the top scaffolding is off! Progress.

Has anyone checked the building's progress recently? I called the office yesterday and as usual there's "no update". I just have this feeling that something's going to happen soon.

I'm going to call today just to check that my paperwork is up to date but I'll probably get the same "no update" answer. I can't believe how fast May has gone by but I'm still hoping they will start contacting us next month. I try to keep up with the building's progress on Instagram and it does look almost done.

Does anybody believe that calling them somehow speeds up their application being processed? Just curious.

I don't believe it does. everytime I call their receptionist is rude and uninterested in answering questions. The man that did my application is always very nice to me but he says the same thing, "no updates from the city".

Well when I spoke to the man who is handling my file, he was asking me for an update. Like does the building look almost finished because I told him I live a few blocks away and check it out periodically. It's really not them. The construction is causing the hold up. He sounded like he wanted to be done with 626 Flatbush since they are now also working on 21 West End. I understand construction delays happen but this is a long delay.

No one said that. We are obviously calling for updates to find out what's going on.
