Again no one in the NYC liberal media gives a rat's butt about a white/hipster being attacked on the NS of Staten Island. The only way this story would have made major news at the time is if it involved a gay, lesbian or trannie.
Now if a black had been jacked in Tottenville, New Dorp or even Rosebank, then we would have had full court press.
This area of the North Shore is where Bill de Boob and the City Council are trying to make the next big thing in terms of a hipster neighborhood. Yeah good luck with that.
As myself and others who know the Rock have said, there is a certain element down there that isn't going anywhere; The Wheel and shopping mall not withstanding.

A few years back a minor scrap between kids in Great Kills - aka, whitey land - became a national news story when one of the participants in the fight, a black girl, claimed she had racial epithets hurled at her. Mind you, this was a situation where multiple kids on each side were fighting, and only ONE was black. Fat Al marshaled his paid-agitators and marched down Hylan Blvd. The coverage lasted weeks and every South Shore, SI resident was spoken of as racist and backwards due to what amounted to no more than a children's' fracas.
Broad day-light beating of a white devil in a near 100% black hood (in vicinity of projects to boot)? Barely a peep, even locally.
These weren't the facts once the hype and false outrage died down. I recall the truth being that both sides were fighting for some stupid reason and one side happened to have a single black friend from out of town visiting. Viola'! the necessary elements for racial outrage were in place and the rest is history.
What else is new on Staten Island.....if I lived there the only reason unfortunately I would have to go south of the Expressway is if I had some friends/family in NYCHA...because I'm pretty sure if I lived there I would be living on the North Shore. But thats ok with me!
