sorry to start a photo-generated thread when i have no photos to contribute, but if anyone does, they'd be much appreciated.

what i'm looking for…

pictures of Manhattan that show the lower scale nature of the island….i'm talking low rise buildings, green spaces…anything that would make people say "I can't believe this is Manhattan"

Fort Washington, Highbridge, Riverside and Fort Tryon Parks are all great. Inwood Hill Park is probably my favorite park in Manhattan. Kudos to Bloomie for restoring parts of them.

All pics from my camera phone of just Fort Washington Park just a few days ago, and one along Swindler's Cove overlooking the Bronx. Uptown has no shortage of great quiet spots. Even better that there are almost no tourists.






Anyone notice each year there are more jet skiers, kayakers, and canoers in the river. I remember when this was a rare gross sighting.
