White guys do not love/prefer light skin black women. Trust me on this one. If they prefer light skin (or long straight hair for that matter) they would just be with a tanned white woman.
I'm a guy and I concur. Whenever I've seen white guys with black women, the women tend to be very dark and have natural hair.
So how do you explain the increase in white male/ black female couples that I have seen in New York City?
I think you've misunderstood my comment. Skin tone is not a concern with white men when they date black women. Historically, black standards of beauty (specifically talking about it within the black community) lean towards "light skin and long hair". White guys that date black women don't really go by that standard. They will gladly date a super dark "Sudanese model-type" and be mesmerized by her complexion and find it beautiful. Point being, they like the dark skin tones of black women. Not saying that they don't or won't like light skin women too, they just aren't fixated with it as the standard for black beauty.

I joined to ask the NYC forum about the best places to date interracially?? I just turned 32, but I'm routinely told that I look 22. It must be my dark skin and healthy lifestyle that keeps me looking so young.
I see a lot of black guys out with non black women, and I too want to experience interracial dating. My preference is white men. I am shy and I don't really feel comfortable approaching guys. I'm just curious, where do black women who date interracially in the city meet their dates? Is it more likely in Brooklyn than in Manhattan.
