Say it isn't so. I never thought I will see the day when Brownsville will start to get attention from developers. Weird place for a Hotel. This area is so close to some really dangerous housing projects.
Hotel Conversion Planned For Factory At 326 Junius Street, Brownsville
Quote:
The attractive five-story factory at 326 Junius Street in Brownsville has been a boxing gym, a community center, and a church. And now, alteration applications have been filed to convert the 1920s building at the corner of Blake Avenue into a 114-key hotel.

The property changed hands again in February for $5,145,000. It turns out that the new owner is Williamsburg-based investor Joseph Brunner
I actually revieved a paper in the mail from some community board informing residents about the change. I'll look for it tomorrow . I think they're building one on Sutter too, there's some construction going on right before the 3 train goes underground to Crown Heights.
I think these hotels (hopefully I'm wrong) will end up turning into places for the homeless. Who in their right minds would stay here on a vacation? LoL, I can't wait to graduate college and get the hell out of here.
There is nothing astonishing about this. Do a search in AirBnB every now and then and you will find quite a number of listings in areas like Brownsville and ENY. Bottomline is that if the hoteliers won't do it, someone else will.
brownsville is incredibly dangerous. i am not sure who will stay here. even if you have a car escort to leave the hotel, you can be held up or shot at.
