So if she was not painted ,what difference would it make ?
She is pan handling for show and a quick hustle , there is no sex involved so it's not prostitution .
If men are thinking sex ,they do that if the girl is dressed or not.
I thought "the hustle" was the second name for New York.
go figure.
A friend, his wife and their three preteens (two girls and a boy) recently visited the city and ran into the naked/painted ladies. It was awkward to say the least. Surely there are less tacky ways to separate tourists from their dollars.
what was so awkward about it? don't like it, dont look. what do expect from a city like NY?
Heard on NPR this morning that DeBlasio is saying he's going to take up a fight against ANYONE offering pictures for money in TS. The Elmos and Dora the Explorers sure won't be happy about this. I would love to see an Elmo attacking some of these painted ladies, that would be worth a picture.
In all honesty, DeBlasio needs to quit it with all this nitpicking. Leave the girls alone, I say.
This is the tactic I more expected. However, I don't think it will pass judicial muster if it gets challenged. This is very close to an attempt to ban panhandling, which has been struck down on the basis that it violates freedom of speech. Now that seems like a stretch to me, but that's the way it is. I think selling photos of ones self, or, ever so slightly differently, asking for a tip for the same, would be treated the same way.
And while it would not apply to the body paint girls, a better tactic would be to encourage the copyright holders of the characters the costumed tip hustlers use to give the city the right to enforce their copyrights, and ban their use for tip hustling.

Just as a point of fact, Vegas showgirls are only topless on stage, indoors, for ticketholders at their shows. AFAIK, toplessness is illegal there in public. They do have girls in showgirl outfits hustling for tips on the strip, but they are NOT topless.

No, just being topless in public has been legal for awhile. Now if you're trying to use being topless as part of an attraction then that's different.
i don't bother even going to strip clubs. as most of you guys here will back me up on ,
once you see one naked chick you------WANT TO SEE THEM ALL ! ha ha ha
Waste of money anyway. If I'm going to pay a woman to take her clothes off I might as well just go full out and get a hooker.
