Guardian Angels Back Patrolling Central Park For First Time In 20 Years « CBS New York

Quote:
The Guardian Angels want to take Mayor de Blasio on a tour of Central Park to show him what they see every night.

“He acts like, ‘oh, but it doesn’t indicate it in the stats.’ He needs to leave Gracie Mansion and City Hall and stop worrying about the future of the world and start worrying about the here and now of our city,” Sliwa said.

On the bright side this isn't Florida, so they probably won't shoot someone for carrying a can of iced tea.

I remember the Angels' prominence when Dinkins was mayor, and were a response to his lawless policies. I guess the Angels are needed again to protect the public from another feckless politician.

From what I've read from many sources and heard from friends, shootings up, murders up, crime up in CP, homeless all over the streets, subway system a mess, etc.

De Blasio has been just great for the City. And no one deserves his policies more than those who voted for him. And they will have him 2+ more years. Hope the Angels decide to stick around all that time. They are getting long in the tooth.

I'd love to know where you're getting your numbers from. As far as the homeless, yes they're a nuisance, but you can't really blame De Blasio on that one.

Major NYC Crimes On Pace For Record Low In 2015 « CBS New York

Quote:
Shea said the NYPD has not fallen below 100,000 reported major crimes since similar record-keeping began in 1994.
The number of arrests so far in 2015 has fallen by about 35,000.
“Overall in New York City, every single … geographical borough is down in crime,” Shea told reporters, including 1010 WINS’ Al Jones.

Crime is slightly up. But it's not as bad as some people are making it out to be. It could get worse though unless it's nipped in the butt. I have the perspective of having lived here in the late 80's early 90's. I am not scared. If it gets that scary I'll know. Trust me.

We are DEFINITELY looking to Texas for political models ! It's just what we need.

Thanks so much for posting ...

But things are really really good in Texas. Don't be a "hater."

They know how to get those lazy takers moving and how to zap those convicted folk.

Why, I read a story about a woman who shot a neighbor's pet cat with a big bow and arrow. She was a licensed vet and she has her priorities on straight for sure.

Ehh the cops have an incentive to keep numbers down though. The white collars want to keep their standing and that means keeping the stats low. I've seen it. Cops actively look to downgrade crimes or push people towards not reporting. This has been going on for some time though. Well before De Blasio.

Sure, but if you say that you've read crime is up I expect you to have a source. Because all of my sources say otherwise.
