Doing some what simple renovations , such as , changing kitchen tiles , changing to newer kitchen cabinets. Regarding the bathroom , changing toilet for a newer one . Changing old school bath tub , into a shower cabinet . If possible due to any old plumbing pipes I'd make a sink in the bathroom . As well tiles . I'm assuming changing doors to rooms do not require permits . But what about stuff such as taking down an old closet , and or old cabinet .? A lot of these things from the research I did . Do not require permits , except for maybe adding a new sink ,
If you are not touching the plumbing inside the walls or the electrical inside the walls you don't need a permit. No permit is needed to replace say a tub with another tub, or change a sink with another sink

So if I'm not changing the plumbing , or adding any new pipes. I'm good to go ? Basically I'm gonna use all the same pipes that were there before . Strip the tiles . Remove the bath tub . Remove toilet . And to those same pipes add newer stuff . There is no sink currently , and that is what I am actually afraid of needing a permit .
It's best to obtain written authorization from the building's management. I renovated my apartment about five years ago. My management office advised that, since I wasn't making any structural changes to the unit (i. e., the new tub is exactly where the old one was), no permits were needed. Obtaining the super's cooperation with a few dollars will likely expedite the process.
