Couple has returned. The dogs have their people back.

I'm glad I didn't have to do anything, and certainly learned a lot in this thread.

Just read this for the first time and it is unbelievable that the owners of these dogs would let something like this happen to their pets. The dogs should be taken away and put into a better home just for the simple fact that theyw ere abandoned for days because of their low life owners.

There are no homes. There are no fosters.

If you know about either, do post them.
Or better yet go to one of the death list pages and contribute viable situations for the different groups.

I have no idea why.

My question is: when this happens, how does the city handle their dogs? They keep two pitbulls outside only, fenced into their backyard next to mine. Sometimes the dogs escape; in fact I saw one earlier walking around without leash, which was very unusual.

I don't hear any barking right now -- also unusual.

Am I in for a quiet night?
They go into shelter system. I was recently at an ASPCA looking at some dogs for my mother and one of the volunteers there told us a couple of the dogs had been taken from people who were arrested, etc.

The "shelter system" and the ASPCA are two very different things.

Well I believe they usually are sent to Animal Care & Control. Which from what I understand tries to get the animals adopted.

CACC means death in 24 - 48 hours.

There are too many and few responsible homes.
