I heard it is considered mostly a black area. Is it safe there late at night? Would a white person be a target? Reverse discrimination? Good place to raise a family? Looking for real answers and your experience. I'm considering the area but want to know the facts from people that live in there.

Yes 60 % + black
Around 8-9% white
Safe but no one can guaranteed everytime
Yes , very likely
Yes
Partially
No
As more white old ppl , more black and Latino are moving in
Coop city does make some restriction about tenant's qualification
But everything in the market is flexible

Let's the place doesn't attract good tenant
Then the management would eventually lower the standard to low income tenant

With only like maybe 3 or less people that live there who post on this board, what kind of answer are you really going to get lol?

Go and find out yourself while walking around during the day and night, week days and weekend, etc.

I don't think the safety issue would be different between a white person and anyone of another race. Take a trip there at 2am and you'll have your answer.

How many threads did you create about working middle class black areas asking if you would be a target? If that's a legitimate concern for you, why choose to move into any of these areas at all? It's as if you are looking for a reason to validate what you already feel to be the answer and when that reasoning is not substantiated, you move on to another middle class black area to question. Just pick an area like Breezy point and call it a day.

This would appear to be a rather unbalanced (shall we say) person who is working the housing lotteries, perhaps does not even live here, who knows.

Already called this person on the race thing on another thread. OP accused me of "attacking" him, proclaimed that he was being targeted as a white person, therefore "proving his point," and then vanished.
