I currently am working at a Big 4 company as. Software Developer and make 91.5k. I have a little over 5 years of experience and am getting a feeling it will take me a few more years to get to that Senior Developer level, regardless of the fact I have been leading devlopment teams for over a year now. With that, I am starting to look at my options. I am currently interviewing at a smaller firm that has a great culture, which is what I am looking for and the MEDIAN salary for a Software Developer is 135k. This seems way above industry average to me, even for Manhattan. I am happy where I am, but just see my career being a little stagnant at the moment when I feel I am ready to move vertically, hence the looking around. With that, what is a reasonable expectation of salary for me? My core skillset is .Net focusing primarily on Web Services and Cloud Computing in Azure, so skills that are definitely in demand at the moment. I can also answer any questions if needed. I appreciate the feedback.

Sites like Salary.com and Glassdoor can be useful. But you also have to keep in mind certifications and degrees as contributing factors for a given salary range. When you're pricing a job it's important to pay more attention to the job responsibilities than the titles, because the titles can be misleading if you don't match them up to the right industry (non profit vs for profit vs gov)
