This can't be right, I was told only "thugs" have to worry about police brutality. Apparently it doesn't matter

This is getting appalling.
I'm sure it is not happening with any greater frequency than before, but now it is being exposed because everyone carries video capability.

Police assume that the badge gives them bully rights. When a few of these bastards are locked away on felony assault convictions after heavy publicity, perhaps some of these thugs will use common sense BEFORE they beat up citizens every time they feel an erection bulging in their drawers.

One should not have to be an Olympic star to stop a police beating.

Hopefully he gets fires. Someone that aggressive shouldn't be uniformed. Other police officers should denounce him; he ruins their reputation.

Denouncing a fellow cop gets you a reputation as a rat and nobody will watch your back. Doesn't matter how much of a dirtbag the cop is.

Actually it depends on the situation. In this case I 100% agree with you. If you are labeled a rat you will never shake that reputation your whole career. 20-25 years of dealing with non stop harassment is a tough way to go through a career.

And this is why it infuriates me when cops try to brush off bad cops as only a small percentage of cops. Well if cops weeded out their bad seeds, there wouldn't so many bad cops. As long as cops blindly protect their own, then don't ****** and moan when people rightfully so complain about police brutality. There was no reason for this incident to have occurred. This was not a violent crime, this man posed no threat to the safety of the officer, what reason was there for him to be thrown to the floor? It's funny how all the cop apologist won't step foot in this thread because there's no excuse for this.

There was a saying about those who do wrong being in the same boat as those who harbor them.

And thus ALL cops get the reputation, perhaps well-deserved, as rats.

Ex-Tennis Star tackled sounds better than unemployed black man tackled I guess.
