I'm an Italian 28 years old guy. I will spend 3 months in NYC. and I've found a room in a nice apartment located between West 121st Street & Saint Nicholas Avenue. Is it a safe zone or should I search for something else?
It is a relatively safe area, as it is part of gentrified Harlem -- a mix of the old and the poor, along with the new and the trendy. There will be other white folks living and shopping in the neighborhood, so you won't feel too out of place, and the area has all the usual neighborhood amenities, as well as as easy access to buses and subways. It's an interesting slice of NYC. Take the usual precautions you'd take in any big city and you should be fine.
They could do so much there.
Yet, it has worsened exponentially. It is beyond embarrassing.
