Default if money were no object...

As long as I'm single, then the Upper East Side. When I have a wife, kids and need some space then I would say a big house on Staten Island... one of those ones on top of a hill with a nice view.

My dream place in NYC is a brand new 3 bedroom condo in a new building in Astoria, Queens with a balcony view of Manhattan. I'm eyeing one on Newtown and Crescent for about $400,000, but i'd live anywhere between 21st and Steinway and Ditmars and Broadway.

Astoria is incredible. Nice and quiet, not too crowded, well kept, safe, multicultural, best food, bars, clubs, NYSC, shopping and 15 minutes to midtown. I recently moved to Woodside and now I miss that area everyday. I still go back for everything, food, barber, bars, recreation, its one of my favorite neighborhoods in the world.

Same general area where I am now, but on a quiet(ish) side street off Riverside Park. Two bedrooms would be nice, but more important is ample closet space.

Oh, and my own washer/dryer.

Excellent topic, cyrusjul!

Ditmas Park/Prospect Park South. In one of those huge pre-war apartments.

Biskit, I was raised right across the street from those condos, my dad still lives there. I would love to move back to Astoria, it's a great place to raise a family, it's quiet, clean, and has loads of amenities.
