Well they have to hire supers or soon the garages are going to have to run themselves. I've had to super 3 times this month.
It's fun, they give you 4 hours in the books lol
I'm interested in learning the dynamics of that;
So, you're an RO Supv, correct? But the Boro can appoint you super for a day, and you earn 4hrs comp even if you're sent to the same zone?
Also, is it true that you can push your Sunday (non-emergency) to the following week if you have a long weekend?
Question regarding Medical. I know on the forums the advice is "don't volunteer any information" when it comes to the medical.
I have a disease (non contagious lol) that will most likely show up during my blood test. Should I advise them during the medical and provide the letter from my doctor saying that the autoimmune disease I have will not affect my work? Or wait for the medical results and then contest it if it comes up?
Its never affected any job I have and I lead a normal life - no one even knows about it unless I tell them.
Physically I am 100% - no back issues or bone issues. Just a bit of a beer belly from sitting most of my day lol.

If they find it and say that you're unable to perform the job (in their opinion) they will dq you whether you have a doctors note or not. The doctor's note means zilch at this point. Your best bet would be to hope you fall through the cracks and not give them any information that would lead to a dq to begin with. These aren't geniuses we're talking about. Good luck.
If you get DQ for medical reasons you can always appeal, but you will have to hire a civil service law attorney to fight your case & I believe you have 30 days to appeal from when you receive the DQ letter. It will cost money because of the legal fees, but it will be worth it in the long run if you win the appeal.

What part of don't volunteer any info is so hard to understand? Go ahead bring your note, it's like saying hey! Here's a reason to DQ me!! Look look!... Walk in there like your the healthiest person in the room, if they find it , then deal with it and go through the appeal process, if they don't, good for you... The note on day one does nothing to help your situation
I just found an old article stating a case back in the early 80's where a guy with the same issue (yes yes let the AIDS jokes ring in) was denied a job with the DSNY and he sued. Ended up winning and the DSNY looks at the disease differently now. Perhaps since that lawsuit set a precedent, I shouldn't have any issues. We shall see.
(P.S. I know it sounds like I have some horrible disease lol, I don't. I just don't want anything tied to this account as I continue to move forward in the proecess. Hope that makes sense)

Got it - thanks.
