People processing now are 1040 and under. This will pretty much do it for 2016.

Now assuming they call about 1000 a year over a 4 year list that where the list will end

You are 6000. Chances are pretty much shot unless there is a miracle the 4 th year.

Gotcha. I figured I was pretty much screwed. Looks like it'll either be Court Officer or MTA Conductor for me. I was really hoping to make it into DSNY though. Is it possible that as the amount of people moving to NYC increases, and the garbage of course increases, we could have more than 1,500 candidates called per year? Let's say within the next 4 years? Thinking outside the box here with some optimism.

The list will move based on different factors. Promotions, retirement and also terminations vary year to year. This year thus far, 3 guys have been terminated from my garage.

No one knows how the list will move and what the need for workers may be . I do believe as the list moves on from the top 2000 people it may move quicker . Due to people not being patient and taking other jobs . I'm kind of in the same boat as you , I'm in the higher 4000s . If I was you is get the cdl anyways . That stuff if useful for everything and almost every department .
