Was just walking around that area last week. Interesting what they are doing with "North Madison". *LOL*


Still not really a neighborhood, especially going west towards Penn Station, but east from Park onwards isn't bad. Whole Foods is opening a supermarket on Third and really just as with the UES a bulk of the shopping/retail is from Lexington onwards. Difference is down there you have some retail on Park Avenue South, while on the UES nearly nil.


Probably won't be in my lifetime but if Manhattan continues to turn most formerly commercial areas into residential that area will be totally different. For me right now though there isn't anything *over there* when compared to other parts of Manhattan.

The staff at UHAB are reviewing the applications now. Any applications that qualifies are going to HDC for further processing and verification, basically a second set of eyes.
I wonder how long it will take for HDC to recheck everything.

Hopefully we will hear of an approval by this week, if not, next week.

I was just informed that most people were turned down cause of the closing costs.
Does anyone know how much closing costs are?

Probably 5 to 10k. I just called them. He pretty just said my paperwork has just been sitting around because the person that does the credit check has been away. Not looking too good. I know units have already been assigned to new residents

Yup, I was told the 1 bedroom is gone.

Do you know if the person that does the credit check is at UHAB?
When my credit was checked, they used an agency called "SAFERENT".

But im guessing since they didnt even bother to run my credit that I didnt meet the qualifications.

If you don't meet the qualifications, they will send a letter stating the reason for denying you.
As long as your income is within their requirements range http://www1.nyc.gov/assets/hpd/downl...10-mad-dev.pdf -- the second step would be to run your credit check.

I'm sure if you have 700+ credit, you're fine. And they will get to yours based on your log number.
And you did pay $50 for that credit/background check.
