So we all know about Smorgasburg and Broadway Bites.. my question is what other "foodie" markets do you guys know of? popularity? do you like/not like visiting them?... personally I've never been to Broadway Bites but I've been to Smorgasburg and although it was a great time the crowd was HUGE.. I'm more of a calm person and don't like large crowds all over the place but it was a good time.. what do you guys think?

The Chelsea Market seems to be a "foodie" market to me.

The Italian Arthur Avenue Market in the Bronx comes up a lot, but I'm not sure if it's as remarkable as legend says. I haven't been there yet.

Foodies might also appreciate Noshwalks. They tour all five boroughs and recently added Newark.

In the foodie grocery market department, I never leave Kalustyan's or Zabar's empty handed...

Oh, and the Grand Central Station Market is pretty neat.

Really, Smorgasbord and Broadway Bites are pretty unique events. I'm wracking my brain trying to think of something comparable, but most of the other gourmet markets are established and less experimental.

Smorgasbord and BB are more like craft fairs for food, with up-and-coming chefs and caterers introducing their wares to a broader public.

Okay, last post haha.

OP, you're going to want to follow UrbanSpace. They organize a lot of these and are constantly trying to break into new ground/new neighbourhoods. You can always find nibbles at their big craft markets like the Union Square Holiday Market, but they run some food oriented markets too.

I noticed they have something coming up called Penn Plates opening in a couple of days.
