Nah. The Bronx got the cuchifrito game on lock. More authentic seasoning in the Bronx.

Depending on where you go Cuchifrito can be very tasty. For me the best Puerto Rican Cuchifrito or Luncheoncera is either on 149 street and Morris Avenue by Lincoln Hospital, another one on 148th street and Willis Avenue, and another spot on 110 and 3rd avenue in East Harlem. Puerto Rican stuff is much more better than the Dominican spots in my honest opinion, but then again that's what I grew up with and remember before Dominicans became the dominant Hispanic group in the city.

I don't know La Isla, but El Nuevo Bohio is more like a good Puerto Rican restaurant than what I think of a Cuchifrito. They do more than just the typical fried stuff that you see at Cuchifrito, and it's actually one of my favorite puerto rican restaurants in the city

La Isla has a few locations all over the boroughs and are my fave to go to
