I would like to know the Harlem.
Is dangerous or not, for a white foreigner as me, walking in the streets of this place??

It's just called "harlem" not "the harlem".
You will be fine as long as you have common sense. But that goes for any area or any place.

lol, you'll be fine.

As bad as Harlem can be, i'm sure it's still much safer than most of Brazil.

Just don't flash expensive things and be aware of your surroundings, especially at night time!

I will be be in Harlem starting in January as well. For other posters to chime in, it might be helpful to know what part of Harlem. Do you know where you're staying? Do you have a preference?

During the daylight hours the OP should be safe. After dark I think it depends on what streets one is on.

I have not preference.
I just want to walk around in the streets, to drink a beer, etc... during day light hours.
Is a place that I always see in the movies.
