My view on it is that if you TRULY LOVE city living, diversity, fun, etc... DON'T MOVE HERE! Because of money and demographic control, NYC is becoming no different than every other generic place where the wannabes come to roost (and now breed!)

I live in NYC and love it and don't make a lot of money. (Actually probably less then that bitter person)
You can have a great life here, its all how you live it.
