More NYC landlord madness and greed. The guy overcharged his mark by $3,000 a month, and he did so while extracting major tax-break cash from the taxpayers. Luckily, the tenant completed his due diligence and was awarded the 1500 square foot Upper West Side apartment for less than $800 per month - and it will be rent stabilized going forward, a victory for tenants AND taxpayers ! And the landlord was ordered to pay damages of $876,619.10.

Damages are important because these predatory landlords only understand $$$$$.
Most tenants would prefer jail for them, but in truth, losing money is intolerable for these anti-socials.

Imagine. People complain about women collecting welfare to feed their children, "tax payer money," and are not even smart enough to understand that this guy is far worse - and took far more money from taxpayers.

See how it works ?

Hopefully every person in a similar unit will notice and look into their own situations.

It's great that someone began drawing attention to this for the edification of all.

Thank you so much !
