I have a flight from ORD to Milan with a connection in LGA to JFK. What is the cost of a taxi vs shuttle to JFK from LGA and also will my luggage automatically go from LGA to JFK or will I have to recheck it? I have a lot of luggage and would hate to have to recollect and recheck after doing this in Chicago at Ohare.
Thanks

The question about luggage is best answered by your airline. If you're switching from one airline to another, you'll likely have to move your luggage yourself, but ask your airline, they would be in the best position to answer this question.

There is a similar thread a little further down on this board asking about transportation between JFK and LGA. I stole this information from the answer Mr. Klato posted there:

JFK to LaGuardia

ETS Air Shuttle (718) 221-5341 45–60 minutes $10.00 one-way

All County Express (800) 914-4223 45–60 minutes

NYC Airporter (718) 777-5111 45-60 minutes $12.00 one-way

Taxi (metered) Go to Uniformed Taxi Dispatcher 30 minutes

You will have to bring your luggage with you. LGA is not going to transport your luggage to JFK.

You can take a super shuttle for an airport transfer.

How long of a layover do you have before you have to get on the JFK flight?

Why not just book a flight from O'Hare to JFK or Newark and then on to Milan? You wouldn't have to lug your suitcases and go through security again.

Unless you are meeting someone in NYC, I too think you should book a ticket where you change airplanes at the same airport that you land at from the first flight.

It's seems like a bad deal but it is a done deal. Just take a yellow cab or uber. Facile and quick.
