Which presidential candidate would do the best in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn in November? I believe George W. Bush did well in Bay Ridge, and I think Obama did fairly well in Bay Ridge. Thoughts?

It can be a bit all over the place as blue collar union guys often support the democrats, seeing them as the great supporter of unions, while at the same time being socially conservative, law-and-order types, which gives the nod to the republicans.

I think I saw a poll that Bay Ridge went slightly more for Clinton than Trump - like 60% for Clinton and 40% for Trump.

That being said, I was surprised by that, as when I was in Bay Ridge yesterday, I felt like I was in Trump-land, lots of white middle aged men hanging around outside bars, etc. It felt...Trump-ish.

Large parts of the South Shore and certain areas of North Shore on Staten Island are "blue collar union guys", and they vote reliably Republican year after year.

Who their individual unions back is another matter.

You can't assume every middle aged white guy is a Trump supporter, my dad kinda looks like someone who would be a Trump supporter but he's very far from that.

That's good to hear - thank you!
(True, we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Point taken.)
