E-mail them and request it. I did that repeatedly back when they were delivering to Brooklyn Heights (11201) and Park Slope (11215) but not my neighborhood of Boerum Hill (11217), which is right in between. If they get enough requests, they will listen. Fingers crossed for you - I don't know what I'd do without my FD.
For a city like NYC...this is a great idea and service. Anyone have a good experience with them?
It's been wonderful for us. We've been using it for a few years now, ever since they started delivering to our neighborhood. It's really great for people like us who don't own a car. They're very reliable. You choose a 2-hour time block for delivery. In all the time we've been using them, I think they've been late once. If they mess up an order, they issue a credit, no questions asked. If they deliver something to you by mistake, they let you keep it and credit your account.
They're not cheap but they are actually surprisingly competitive for some items (yogurt, for example, and soft drinks) and they have weekly sales just like any supermarket. I've found their produce, fish and meat to be quite good, and I love their soups and 4-minute meals.
I could sing the praises of Fresh Direct all day! That reminds me, I have to put in my order for tomorrow.
they are very funny about where they deliver....or shall i say prejudice...They are in LIC but will not deliver to neighboring Astoria, Sunnyside, Woodside....according to workers...they are only looking to deliver with upper class, wealthy people....not middle class and they do not take food stamps.
I am not aware if anyone else is knows about this, but Fresh Direct does deliver to the Bronx, If you reside in the Riverdale section only, the truck delivers groceries between 4:00 PM and 6:00 pm. I have a large elderly population in my apartment building and they absoultely love it.
I could swear I've seen them delivering in Harlem and Washington Heights. Weird that they don't do Astoria yet.
Edit: I just saw their website, they definitely deliver to 10031 and 10032 zips...
