You can still be given a summons, which is exactly what already happens for these minor infractions. Little has changed, except that people who don't understand what they're talking about try to spread some narrative about how it's now legal to drink in public.

Many outside drinkers use coffee cups filled with booze, I see few with the old school "bottle in a brown bag". Some just dont care like the guy I saw on the subway with a 40 OZ uncovered in plain view last week.
