US corruption and graft is laughably low compared to corruption in other countries - I don't think blackbeauty has travelled much. And there's pretty much a negative linear correlation between level of corruption in a country and the quality of life/poverty (with a few exceptions of course).

There are organizations that have tried to quantify corruption (to the extent possible) and there is a worldwide corruption index, with countries like the Scandinavian ones as least corrupt and many African nations as most corrupt. The US is well in the top quarter of least corrupt.

People don't know what corruption is until they've lived in a third world country. Just like all the idiots on here claiming the US is a police state. People who have actually lived in a police state and come to the US know better than to roll out such silly hyperbole.

So because America's corruption isn't as Deep and Visibly life altering as in 3rd Wold Countries.... Corruption doesn't exist here? I find that thought process to Amazing Laughable.

Just about every American Institution is ripe with Corruption, it stems from having a Capitalistic Society, which is a more diplomatic term for Legalized Greed. When you have a country run on Greed, the corruption comes very easily.

Our Government, Corporate, Educational, Financial, and Political institutions are all Corrupt.

Without the Corruption there would be no need for Regulations and Oversight which the Corruption just manages to get around.

Without Corruption, 2008 Housing and Market Crashes don't happen, Flint Michigan doesn't happen, Detroit being Bankrupt doesn't happen, Going to College wouldn't mean 300K of SL Debt, Becoming old and/or ill wouldn't Bankrupt a person, MTA fares wouldn't be approaching 3$ a ride, Amtrak wouldn't cost 100$ for a 90 minute ride to Philadelphia, Cable/Internet Bills wouldn't be like paying 2nd Mortgage, Donald Trump would not be heartbeat away from being President of America without the effects of corruption.

It's all thanks to a Corrupt Capitalistic (Greedy) System. Don't tell me America isn't Corrupt, you can't swing a dead cat and not touch some example of effects of Corruption.

I didn't tell you "America isn't corrupt"
3rd grade strawman rhetoric isn't very convincing.

Jeeze louise . And half those things you seem to think corruption was a prerequisite for effecting them to occur... it was not.
I'm beginning to think you don't even know what corruption actually is. And how do you think corruption fares in non-capitalist socialist countries? (You seem to think that capitalism is dispositive). In most of them its absolutely rife! (Let me point out the word "most" in that sentence. In case you come by with another silly statement like "You said all socialist countries are corrupt.

JESUS CHRIST - Here's the Definition right here.

cor·rupt
kəˈrəpt/Submit
adjective
1.
having or showing a willingness to act dishonestly in return for money or personal gain.
"unscrupulous logging companies assisted by corrupt officials"
synonyms: dishonest, unscrupulous, dishonorable, unprincipled, unethical, amoral, untrustworthy, venal, underhanded, double-dealing, fraudulent, bribable, criminal, illegal, unlawful, nefarious; More

All of these adjectives apply to the American System we have now. STOP WITH THE BS!

Yeah, but compared to what? I'd pick New York over Texas or Louisiana any day.
