Blacks and whites haven't been in Elmhurst or Corona in large numbers since Justice Scalia and Louis Armstrong were living there.

There are no shortage of Hispanics (of any race) in either of these neighborhoods.

There's a huge Black homeless population. What special
Needs do Black people have access to? Clearly these homeless people aren't getting any special services. I am sure the homeless population has high mortality rates. Inner city populations have high mortality do dry and alcohol use, violence, lack of medical care, bad diets. Lastly the first underclass in every major city including DC is mostly Black.

Also I think when people from NYC see hoods in certain other cities, they automatically think middle class because these neighborhoods have single family homes. I could see a person from NYC thinking Compton is more affluent than it is because it has houses with yards. In NYC you can see tall, ugly apartment buildings for miles. The housing stock is older, but that doesn't always mean the people are her. Many older looking buildings are co-ops full of middle class people.

That's true, but it depends on what city. The bad parts of Philly are way slummier looking than anywhere in NYC.

When I visited DC, I was shocked with how many black homeless people live near capital hill. Thw contrast between the gentrified areas near the capital and the homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk was a lot worse than NYC, because NYC already looks dirty compared to how clean and new the area near capital hill is.

East coast cities for the most part yes but not EVERY city. San Franciso you will see lots of homeless whites and Asians.
